  What our customers say

As a visual artist, I have a perfectionist's eye. I have worked with other
Photographers in the past who have met my expectations but none that have so changed my idea of what this medium has to offer.
Marco is a true professional, treating his clients with the utmost care and respect, while never compromising quality of his product.
I have been a client for a while and will continue to be one in years hence. Marco is highly skilled in his craft, and I trust him implicitly with my own craft, my art, which he "captures" beautifully.

  Giclee Printing FAQ's
1. What is a Giclee print?

Giclée, derived from the French term meaning "spray of ink," is an innovative printing process providing numerous options for paper stock and ultra high resolution printing output. The Giclee printing process creates the finest digital prints that can be created off an original artwork or photograph.

Marcormedia elevates this printmaking technology by using high-end colour profiled equipment combined with expertise and dedication to perfection and craftsmanship.

Images are generated from high resolution digital scans or digital sources and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art papers, metallic surfaces, fabrics and a wide range of traditional photo-base papers. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction offering you the widest colour gamut and resolution.

The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photography galleries. Giclee prints are advantageous to individuals who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed, or on-demand.
Once an image is digitally archived, additional reproductions can be made with minimal effort and reasonable cost.

The prohibitive up-front cost of mass production for an edition is eliminated. Archived digital files will not deteriorate in quality as negatives and film inherently does.

Another tremendous advantage of giclee printing is that digital images can be reproduced to almost any size and onto our vast choice of archival media, you the ability to customize prints for a specific client and exhibit.

2. What is longevity of a Giclee print?
Giclee prints given their archival nature are expected to last over 120 years when framed in accordance with art conservation methods. Giclee prints will not fade or discolour under normal lighting conditions or when exposed to sunlight like other printing technologies.
The media on which the giclee is reproduced is also an important element in guaranteeing the longevity of your reproductions. Acid free stock should be used to insure long lasting benefits.
3. What kind of ink are we using for Giclee printing?
Unlike other commercial printing techniques in existence today, giclee printing is performed utilizing archival pigmented inks developed by Epson, known as Ultra chrome K3. These inks are produced from natural earth pigments and are water based. No solvents are used as the carrier for the pigments in the inks.
5. What kind of paper of the suitable for Giclee printing?
Giclee prints can be produced on virtually any type of media or substrate. However, if total achievability is a must, acid free, cotton rag media should be used at all times. Other substrates such as metals and plastic based media may not offer as many archival properties.
6. What kind of file do I need for a Giclee print?
Any file is great to produce a giclee print. Of course the better the resolution and quality of the image file, the better the print will be.
Stunning giclee prints can be produced from file resolutions ranging from 200 Dpi to 360 dpi. These resolutions should be at full image size ready to print. Lower file resolutions may produce good results, but other factors have to be taken into account such as image source quality, file format, and how the file was processed.
7. What is the advantage of Giclee printing?
The main advantages of giclee printing are their archival long lasting nature, their high resolution, dot less output, numerous choices of media stock, and the flexibility of reproducing any number of prints from one to hundreds on demand.
